At Anjali by Syphon, we drink differently. Learn all about our sustainable and stylish watereggs
If you haven’t noticed, we like to do things a little differently around here. Anjali by Syphon is a place that questions the norm. We base our lifestyle around what works, and we always wonder if there’s a better way. That’s how we found the wateregg.
Step into our lobby and you’ll find a beautiful water dispenser. Crafted from copper, it couldn’t be more different from the plastic jug you see in so many Cambodian hotels, but what makes watereggs so special—and how can you get one of your own?
What are Watereggs?
Watereggs are integrated water storage systems. Having been crafted by hand with love, they’re everlasting. They’re made from porcelain, magnetite or copper (and copper just so happens to have a front-and-center spot in our lobby). Whether in the form of a carafe or dispenser, a gem stopper serves as the perfect closure for this utterly unique container.
Watereggs are not a water filtration system. Instead, they’re crafted in a way that serves to energize your drinking water and keep it in an optimal state.
Just like Anjali, watereggs serve to be environmentally functional and aesthetically beautiful. In our humble opinion, they succeed on both fronts.
The Benefits of Copper Water Dispensers
- Egg-like shapes help keep water flowing freely. Without any sharp corners or flat surfaces, the water doesn’t have the chance to grow stagnant. As temperatures change and water molecules rise and sink, the water remains on the move, just as it’s meant to.
- In these pristine containers, you don’t have to worry about how long the water’s been stored. Materials like copper allow for indefinite storage of water, without any toxic secretion to go along.
- Silver and high-grade copper are known antimicrobial elements. This helps to preserve the integrity of the water, purifying it and preventing any bacterial growth.
- Structured water vessels help make drinking water more bioavailable. With 85% of the world’s population being chronically dehydrated, promoting energized water seems like a critical mission.
- With an aesthetically majestic appearance, copper water dispensers like the wateregg help build a connection with hydration, ultimately boosting holistic health and wellness for all.
An Alternative to Plastic
Anjali by Syphon is a plastic-free hotel. This means you won’t find any plastic straws or water bottles here. We even give our providers reusable bags for their deliveries and use bamboo to craft all of our hotel key cards.
With all this in mind, it only makes sense we’d be into the wateregg phenomena. Copper is a fantastic alternative to single-use plastic, and it helps us keep up with our zero-waste initiatives.
When combined with other efforts (like solar panel use and environmental education), watereggs contribute to a greater mission of creating a more environmentally just world.
Visit Anjali and Get Your Own
Make your way to Anjali by Syphon and you’ll bear witness to our very own wateregg. A beautiful amalgam of copper, patinas and mica, we love that our functional drinking vessel doubles as an artistic centerpiece. During your stay, you’re more than welcome to use our dispenser to your heart’s hydrated content.
If you fall in love with our wateregg, we don’t blame you. You can get your own right from the hotel. Just ask a member of the beloved Anjali staff how to get your hands on a copper carafe and they’ll be sure to guide you in the right direction.
Whatever you do, stay hydrated…and do so beautifully.
